TAKAGI INTRODUCES NEXT GENERATION
TANKLESS, COMPACT WATER HEATER:Mobius T-M1

IRVINE, CA - Takagi Industrial Company has introduced its next generation tankless water heater called the Mobius T-M1. Like its predecessor, the Flash, the Mobius outperforms a traditional water heater while occupying about one-tenth the space. Refinements incorporated into the Mobius include increased flow range and temperature output, more precise controls and improved safety.

Tankless water heaters can generate a continuous, unlimited supply of hot water because there is no storage tank to heat. The Mobius's first-hour rate is over 500 gallons per hour compared to a conventional 100-gallon storage tank water heater's 135 gallons per hour.

However, because there is no tank to run out, Mobius continues to deliver at this rate while the conventional water heater runs cold. The Mobius has a maximum flow rate of 9.6 gallons per minute, so its ideal for residential or commercial water heating and warm air or radiant heating system applications.

The Mobius is amazingly compact. It's dimensions are 24" high by 18 inches wide by 9" deep and weighs only 70 pounds. It occupies about 2.5 cubic feet compared to a 100 gallon water heater which takes up about 24 cubic feet. Its compact design allows Mobius to be hung on a wall, inside or outside, installed in a cabinet or under a stairwell as long as it is properly vented.

The thermal efficiency of the Mobius is 83% using natural gas and 85% on propane. This is far superior to the conventional water heater's 76% rating (comparisons based on Mobius vs.100 gal. storage tank water heater). Because the Mobius is more efficient it uses less fuel and is therefore more cost efficient to operate and environmentally friendly.

A unique feature of Mobius is its flexibility in large use applications such as office buildings and other commercial structures. Up to 20 Mobius units can be installed together using a single main control system. When installed in this manner Mobius units can replace the space consuming, inefficient boilers used in most large buildings. Further, the use of Mobius units allows the building owner to customize the water heating system by using the correct number of units to meet the building’s hot water needs. For even larger applications more than 20 units can be installed using multiple control systems.

An added benefit in commercial applications is that because of Mobius's light weight and small size installation can be a one person job compared to the crew and equipment needed to install a boiler. Also, unlike a convention boiler which if it fails eliminates all hot water to the building, a Mobius grouping will continue to deliver hot water even if trouble should develop with one unit.

The output temperature of the Mobius can be adjusted from 100 to 176 degrees. This range makes it ideal for home applications as well as providing water hot enough to meet health regulations in commercial use.

The Flash Mobius meets the Southern California Air Quality District's standard for low-NOx water heating equipment.

The innovative Mobius is built and backed by one of the most reputable manufacturers in Japan, Takagi Industrial Company, known for over fifty years for quality and technology. The Mobius and its predecessor the Flash are available through Takagi Industrial USA, Inc., based in Irvine, California.
